The olive grove you do not expect Riva di Conegliano
On the southern slope of the Conegliano hill, just a few steps from the historic center and the ancient Carraresi walls, lives an olive grove rich in history, nature and biodiversity.
The name “Riva” recalls the Treviso dialect: a sloping piece of land, exposed to the sun, where the agricultural landscape meets the castle and the town. In the cadastral maps this area was marked as “San Biagio”, a memory of an ancient medieval convent dedicated to the saint.
Today this land preserves more than 300 olive trees of different varieties and ages: a small plant community that makes every harvest different, every oil richer and every visit surprising.
Living nature
A small ecosystem in every season
Among the olive trees grow mulberries, acacias, figs, apple trees, apricot trees, almond trees, walnut trees, pear trees, hazelnuts and bay trees. It is a discreet but surprising biodiversity, changing with the light, blossoms, pruning and the slow rhythm of the seasons.
The varieties of the olive grove
The trees are not all the same: different ages, shapes and varieties contribute to an extra virgin olive oil with aromas and flavors that are always nuanced. In the olive grove grow Frantoio, Leccino, Pendolino, Leccio del Corno, Grignano, Tonda di Villa, Moraiolo, Casaliva, Coratina, Bianchera and Maurino.
Extra virgin olive oil
From the hill to the mill within 48 hours
Riva di Conegliano oil is born from a careful harvest and a quick processing. Within 48 hours, the olives reach the Tapa Olearia mill in San Giacomo di Veglia, about 15 kilometers from the olive grove.
Cold extraction
Processing takes place with a Pieralisi mill below 25 °C, to preserve the organoleptic and nutraceutical qualities of the extra virgin olive oil.
Small production
Production is not abundant: for this reason, the oil is presented in 750 ml and 500 ml bottles, following the natural rhythm of each year.
Tapa Olearia
Riva di Conegliano is a member of the Tapa Olearia mill, a local reality dedicated to olive oil processing and culture.
Bees and honey
Since 2020, Veronica has cared for several hives, produces honey for the family and studies the recognition of monofloral and multifloral honeys.
A family story
An inherited land, a cultivated passion
“My name is Veronica and I am an agricultural entrepreneur. I manage this land with the precious help of my sister Elena and other collaborators.”
The land came into the family through my great-grandfather Pietro Dalla Balla and my grandfather Arnaldo Piutti. Family memory tells that Pietro, as a child, drew from a hat the names of the properties to be divided among the children: fate wanted this slope to go to his father, then to him, and finally to those who continue to care for it today.
Visiting the olive grove means discovering an unusual view over Conegliano, observing the ancient walls up close and walking through an agricultural landscape that is alive in every season of the year.
